ISIS

Interplanetary Special Investigations Service. United States operation involved with alien contact. Current plans call for an amalgamation with similar European, Japanese and Russian agencies under the aegis of the United Nations. At the moment, the organization has extraterritorial powers in several countries and alliances with many similar organizations.

While the organization has several bases and agents working for it, it maintains one active super team, based generally in the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The current active membership of this team is:

• Dreamscape — The enigmatic "Man in Black" known as Mr. Smith. A mentalist of exceptional ability, he is known to be able to draw powers out of a hat, and his penguins are not to be despised.

• Templar — Dr. Jeremy Ffolkes is a telekinetic of great ability, and also a noted archaeologist. He generally works in a TK-generated costume of armor and wings. He is married to Thanagarian archaeologist Triana Ffolkes, who is studying Terran archaeology.

• Webslinger — Reputed to be the son of the Black Cat and Spiderman, his quickness and strength, plus the many uses he makes of his webshooters, certainly implies a connection to the noted New York superhero, though Spidergirl is his acknowledged heir.

• Riptide — The son of Aquaman and Mera, he combines exceptional Strength (actually superior to his father's), water control powers, and proficiency with the Sai.

• Green Lantern V — Elizabeth O'Fanion inherited the green ring from the previous wearer, now known as Sol Verde. She joined ISIS to gain experience with the Superhuman World.

• Radiance — Jewel thief Kelly Blake had her radiant powers ignited by a strangely radioactive gemstone. She is both a teammate and responsibility of the ISIS team.

• Symbiote — Jason Murdock, son of Matt Murdock and Natasha Romanov, was a hazmat control specialist when a building he was investigating proved to have a strange symbiote that attached itself to him and gave him great strength, speed, and stretching and malleability powers.

Associated Characters

• Anthem is a noted hero who has been active for over 20 years. He was one of the first recruited into ISIS and he is generally on call by that agency whenever he is needed. He often is sent independently to investigate alien appearances on Earth.

• Dr. Alphonse Stygious was once the notorious Dr. Styx. He paid his debt to society and retired, and now acts as the ISIS Team's general factotum, supplying technical aid when necessary and occasionally bringing out the Styxbot, a large mecha equipped with high defenses and a number of capture weapons.
