The Kree and their Khund servitors are an excellent argument for not messing with the human germ plasm. With only minor alterations to the human norm they have become one of the great star empires, competing with the Skrulls for territory in Earth’s quadrant. They take tribute from rival starfarers like the Thanagarians and Psions of Vega, and rule hundreds of worlds outright. Most of this they built on their own, as they were pounded back to pre-industrial status in the revolt against the Galactics because they were some of the most fervent supporters of the Masters from the Core. Only the similar fates that overtook the rebels kept the Kree from being eradicated.
Once they attained a space-based economy again, they discovered equipment left behind by the Galactics that allowed them to gain a technological ascendancy over most of their neighbors.
After Thanagar (see below) was accepted as a client state, many Thanagarians have married and interbred with the Kree, which explains why there are both blue and white skinned Kree races. Many conservative Kree are disdainful of the halfbreeds, but many of the crossbred Kree citizens have carved out excellent careers in the Kree service, not the least of whom is Mar-Vel, known as Captain Wonder on Earth.
